An intoxicated Fort William man armed himself with a knife and threatened to kill his grandmother and mother at their homes.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 24-year-old Brandon Dobinson, of Shaw Place, turned up outside his grandmother’s property Wallace Place on April 19 last year.
Fiscal depute Susan Love told Sheriff Gary Aitken that Dobinson was lying on the ground with his hands over his face.
"His grandmother went to see him but he jumped up and pulled out a kitchen knife. He said ’I am going to do all of you. You are no family of mine’." Ms Love said.
She added that Dobinson then went to his mother’s home in Claggan and the threats continued.
"He said to her, ’I hate you. I am going to kill you’ while brandishing the knife, which had come from his mother’s kitchen.
"His mother was screaming for help and she managed to call the police. Neighbours also heard the threats and locked themselves in.
"He was arrested shortly after." Ms Love continued.
Dobinson admitted two charges of threatening or abusive behaviour and sentence was deferred until September 10 for a background report.
