Essential surfacing improvements are set to start on the A82 between Corran Ferry and Fort William this month, involving nine nights of roadworks.
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s road operating company, has said that overnight works are scheduled to start on the A82 at Corrychurrachan, between Corran Ferry and Fort William, beginning Monday May 27.
The project will take place over nine nights, from Monday May 27 to Friday June 7 between the hours of 8pm and 6am. No works will be undertaken on Friday or Saturday nights.
Amnesty periods will be in place throughout the night. Work on site will be temporarily suspended, and vehicles will be escorted through the site at the following times: 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 2am and 4am.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A82 at Corrychurrachan will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project.”
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey: www.traffic.gov.scot
