A82 works at Tyndrum: 10mph convoys for eight nights

A section of the A82 between Crianlarich and Tyndrum near Euich Bridge is to benefit from an improved road surface with work to get underway from Tuesday May 24.

 

The improvements will see almost 2km of the A82 resurfaced, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.

 

The project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday May 24 and is expected to take place over eight nights between 7pm and 7am. No works will take place on Saturday night.

 

All works are expected to be complete by 7am on Thursday June 2, subject to weather conditions.

 

To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours.

 

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours; however, a temporary 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

 

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s representative for the North West, said: 'This surfacing project between Crianlarich and Tyndrum, near Euich Bridge, will greatly improve the quality and safety of this section of the A82 for road users.

 

'The traffic management is necessary to protect roadworkers as well as motorists; however, we have taken steps to minimise disruption by carrying out the works overnight.

 

'Our team will do their best to conduct the works as quickly and safely as possible and we thank motorists for their patience in advance whilst also encouraging them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.'
