A stretch of the A85 trunk road, which links Oban to the Central Belt, will close near Lochawe over seven nights in February for resurfacing.
The carriageway east of Lochawe village will be closed in both directions each night between 7pm and 5am from Wednesday February 5 until the morning of Friday February 14.
During periods of closure, timed access will be available at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site safely.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works. An alternative route is also available via the A82 and A828 for those who do not wish to wait for a timed access.
Outwith these hours, traffic management will be removed. However, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users as well as upgrading road markings. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
