Young photographer Alexander Maxwell is a winter wonderland winner.
The 12-year-old’s photograph of illuminated trees at this year’s Winter Woods event won him a Scottish Field luxury hamper worth £75.
Oban High School pupil Alexander sent in his colourful festive shot as part of a new photographic competition, launched for this year’s Oban Winter Festival by West Coast Today and The Oban Times Camera Club.
People were asked to capture the magic of the festival with their photographs from any of the popular 10-day event.
Alexander, who went to the Winter Woods to see the jellyfish installation he helped build with his 1st Argyll Scouts pack, used his phone camera to take the winning snap.
"I liked seeing the colour lights flare up from the trees. It really caught my eye and made me think it would make a good photo. I took six then chose the best.
"I was really happy when mum told me I’d won the competition. I’m looking forward to the chocolate in the hamper but I’ll be sharing the rest," added Alexander, who has also been taking photographs of the Northern Lights.
