Phoebe was joined on her charity walk by two college friends from Oxford along with another seven friends and family through the week, including two dogs for the final 10km.
The walkers experienced variable weather and the walk presented considerable challenges, including some bad blisters after a day encountering boggy shoreline. On the final night one tent gave way under the weight of the rain, but the girls were housed safely in a sleeping pod courtesy of Seal Shore Campsite in Kildonan.
Arran Active kindly helped provide some camping essentials, and everyone was proud to arrive home wearing their walk t-shirts. These had been provided by neighbour David Daw from Print4Biz, where three of the girls live in Great Chesterford, Essex.
The walkers really appreciated all the support they got from local people on Arran and from friends around the country who followed their progress on social media. The encouraging comments and steady donations raised spirits when the weather and terrain got difficult. The walkers agreed that the Coastal Way is a stunning walk to follow and raising so much money for two great causes made it a truly memorable event.
