Argyll and Bute Council has come under fire for failing to fully publish all objections to its harbour board plans - for the second time.
Oban Community Harbour Development Association (OCHDA) has criticised the council’s failure to present a full picture of the protests to its plans.
Some objectors shared their statements with OCHDA, and when the council first published, at least 13 of them were missing.
At the second attempt, one objection OCHDA is aware of is still missing in its entirety, while another 18,563 word document, they say, has been "butchered" down to 729 words.
Phil Hamerton, chairperson of OCHDA, said: "We’re waiting for them [the council] to do it again and get it right this time.
"We have no idea how many objections there have been overall as the number the council put up has changed each time. It’s 142 at the very least, but we have no way of knowing if that is accurate.
"They have taken extracts of the introductions to objections and posted them alone, having completely removed the actual objection which was part of the same document.
"If they are so careless about what they publish, can we be confident in their consideration?"
Phil was also sceptical about the council’s response to the issues which have been raised in the objections.
He continued: "We have no confidence that the issues have been taken on board, the council has not changed its position on anything significant so far.
"The council is refusing to consider that there are valid reasons to worry.
"They are not engaging properly with the community or elected representatives."
Phil is calling on the local authority to sit down with OCHDA and discuss the objections to the current harbour board plans together.
When asked how the objections had been published incomplete a second time, an Argyll and Bute spokesperson said: “The council has all the representations and has fully considered and responded to them.”
