In an extraordinary stroke of luck, Arran Mountain Festival has secured the date in Kenton's busy schedule for him to visit the island.
This unmissable opportunity will give people on Arran the chance to hear his captivating, illustrated history of the highs and lows of summit attempts on the world's highest mountain.
Earlier this summer he delivered this show to sell-out audiences across the UK to mark 70 years since the first ascent of Mount Everest.
Recently back from leading his 17th successful expedition to the summit of the mountain, Kenton Cool is recognised as a world-leading, high altitude mountaineer, mountain guide, adventurer and speaker. He holds the record for the most non-Sherpa ascents of Mount Everest and is one of the most sought-after mountain guides, with clients including Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
He has climbed many other mountain peaks around the world, including the “seven summits” - the highest mountains on each of the seven traditional continents. He is also the only British person to ski down two 8,000m peaks.
“Everest: The Untold Story” is being held at Arran High School, Lamlash, on Friday August 25 at 7.30pm and is being sponsored by Arran Active. Tickets, £15 or £10 for under 16s, are available at Arran Active - cash only - or online at arranmountainfestival.eventbrite.com or, if available, on the door.
