Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has announced the appointment of Evan Beswick as its new chief officer.
Mr Beswick, who has been operating in the position on an interim basis since the beginning of this year, will assume the role in October following a competitive recruitment process.
Before this role, he was the head of service for primary care in Argyll and Bute.
He has 13 years’ experience in operational and strategic management in the north of NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute.
He has been with NHS Highland since 2011, starting as a national management trainee. He is passionate about providing health and social care services in remote and rural areas.
Councillor Dougie McFadzean, chairperson of the Argyll and Bute Integration Joint Board (IJB), expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, saying: "This appointment reflects the hard work and dedication that Evan has consistently shown.
"His knowledge and commitment to providing rural health and social care services will ensure continuous delivery of excellent integrated health and social care services."
Mr Beswick said: “I am dedicated to leading the partnership and collaborating closely with our stakeholders, outstanding staff, and partners throughout Argyll and Bute to ensure the continued delivery of exceptional health and social care services.
“I would like to acknowledge the leadership demonstrated by Fiona Davies during her time as Argyll and Bute’s chief officer.
"I look forward to continuing to work closely with Fiona in her recent appointment as the chief executive officer of NHS Highland."
Following the appointment of a new chief officer, recruitment of a new head of primary care will begin shortly.
