The Ardrossan to Arran ferry service has returned to normal service after engine repairs were finally completed following five days of disruption.
Issues were first reported last week when several sailings had to be cancelled due to an issue with the MV Isle of Arran’s gearbox cooler.
These intensified on Friday when the gearbox cooler had to be removed and taken to the mainland for repairs and CalMac were still waiting for the replacement parts to arrive to be fitted on Tuesday, meaning more sailings scrapped.
Some extra sailings were provided by the MV Alfred on the Troon to Brodick route and the Claonig to Lochranza service to Argyll to try and meet increased demand.
However the ferry company have said today that services between Ardrossan and Arran had returned in full today, with a normal service running.
A CalMac spokesperson said: "Repairs have been carried out successfully and the vessel will resume service with the 7am departure from Ardrossan."
