Arran Eco Savvy is helping to put together a book of beloved recipes and it wants to include recipes that you cook whilst you're at home.
The team are looking for original recipes which may have been in your family for generations or, for example, incorporates local produce. Anything you are proud of they want to hear about it and what makes it special to you.
Eco Savvy's food coordinator Jess Wallace is working with cookbook author and owner of events business MarketCraft Nick Paul and island graphic designer Simon Ross-Gill to create the new cookbook: The Arran Home Recipe Book, which will be published early next spring.
Nick said: 'Arran is proud of the quality of the food produced here and with such great ingredients as honey, dairy goods, breads, whisky, beers, vegetables including the famous Arran varieties of potatoes, fresh herbs, beef, lamb and game, the finest seafood plus chocolates, chutneys, jams and oatcakes there is a wealth of possibilities from the local producers who are so passionate about the standards of their products.
'We hope that the forthcoming Arran recipe book will be a source of inspiration to residents and visitors alike to create some lovely home cooked meals that both support the island businesses and nourish the body with the best fresh, local and seasonal produce.'
Simon added: 'It's a pleasure to be working on this upcoming title together with Nick and Jess. Arran has massive potential to build on its colourful, diverse and delicious produce to continue to define a world-class local food culture for the island. We are excited to contribute towards that by celebrating recipes that use local produce, promoting sustainable food production and exploring what sumptuous delights can be prepared in the Arran home.'
Jess said: 'It's been fantastic being involved in the project and exploring sustainable eating through seasonal recipes. Eating with the seasons and using locally-grown and sustainably-sourced food are some of the ways in which we can make planet-friendly food choices. We hope the book will provide guidance and inspiration on how to make these choices in the home kitchen. '
