Two years ago, sneaky thieves who raided the upcycled postbox at the roadside for its cash and tasty treats spoiled Beth’s appetite for the sideline she started during lockdown to keep busy.

The thefts were reported to police and although the culprits were never traced, Beth has decided to give her Granny's Home Baking venture another go much to the delight of regulars who missed getting their fill of cakes, scones and tablet.
Beth took the box away after £20, £8 and another 320 plus goodies were stolen, leaving her heartbroken.
A waterpump was also taken, which led to Beth and her husband Ian installing three CCTV cameras to keep a look out for any other wrong-doers.
"I've got myself a bigger box that I've upcycled and painted bright yellow. I've also got a cash box with a key that only I'll be able to get in to. I'm really hoping people will be honest this time because a lot of lovely people have kept asking me to start it up again."
Beth has also got more time to bake from home now that she has a full complement of staff at the Atlantis Leisure Centre cafe she also runs.
More good news for passers-by near the Bonawe Road is that Beth has put out her jolly scarecrows once again, including a granny to keep an extra eye on the honesty box.
