The cost of the consumable items is £230 and any additional money raised would be used to purchase fitness-related items for the school as chosen by the children.
Teaching staff at the school, prior to the event, spent some time with the pupils looking at heart health and learning how to keep their bodies healthy.
Ross Dobson, Active Schools coordinator, also visited the school to deliver a talk during assembly about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and led a fitness session in preparation for the sponsored event.
Shortly after sponsorship forms were sent out with pupils, the school was contacted by Kenny and Emma Kendall of Arran Dental Practice in Brodick who, very kindly, offered to sponsor the battery and pads. This meant that all funds raised could be spent on fitness-related items for the school.
On the day of the challenge, which required pupils to run between two points before a beep sounds, the children warmed up with music which helped to build excitement levels and raise smiles.
All of the children put in an amazing effort, displaying impressive levels of commitment, and their efforts resulted in raising an impressive £1,214.
Head teacher Shirley MacLachlan and the pupils and staff of Brodick Primary School and Early Years thanked Ross Dobson, parents, pupils and sponsors for all of the donations and support.
