It must be difficult for those of us who have not experienced the grief of losing a loved one in a traumatic way to understand how the families of the Mull of Kintyre Chinook crash victims feel.
The pain and frustration of then having to fight for 30 years to find out why your loved ones died is unimaginable.
At least, the families of the pilots wrongly accused of negligence have seen their names cleared but now they, and all the other families, deserve to know why this tragedy occurred and hopefully find some peace – as do the many people in Kintyre who provided help and support in the aftermath of the crash.
We are in awe of the strength and determination of those who refuse to give up the fight.
When money is needed to fill budget gaps, it has to come from somewhere, which undoubtedly leaves councillors with difficult choices.
