Campbeltown police tackle shoplifting, assaults and careless driving
Incidents of alleged shoplifting, assault and careless driving feature in this week’s police news round-up.
Theft allegation
Police are investigating after a man allegedly stole an item from Campbeltown’s Tesco supermarket at about 7.10pm on Tuesday January 28. Charged
A 54-year-old man was arrested, charged with assault and held for court after allegedly grabbing hold of a woman at a Campbeltown pub between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday January 28.
Arrested
A 21-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault and threatening and abusive behaviour, after allegedly grabbing a man by the arms and pushing him, and shouting and swearing in a threatening manner, in Albyn Avenue, Campbeltown, at about 2.45pm on Thursday January 30.
Careless driving
Police are investigating after a vehicle was allegedly driven in a careless manner on the B842 Southend road at about midnight on Friday January 31, when the driver collided with a verge and caused a road traffic collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact police by telephoning 101, using the ‘Contact Us’ form on Police Scotland’s website, or anonymously contacting Crimestoppers online or by phoning 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference CR/0039924/25.
Pedestrian hit
A 68-year-old man has been charged with careless driving after the vehicle he was driving collided with a pedestrian crossing the road on Aqualibrium Avenue, Campbeltown, at about 8.15pm on Saturday February 1.
