More than 30 past and present Dunaverty Golf Club lady members celebrated 100 years since the creation of the club’s ladies’ section by tucking in to an afternoon tea.
The ladies gathered at The Putt Stop following the final day of the recent ladies’ championships to mark the milestone anniversary.
Although the main club came into existence in 1889, the ladies’ section wasn’t formed until 1924.
After welcoming everyone present, lady captain Lorna Cook invited British and Scottish ladies’ amateur champion and Curtis Cup winner Belle Robertson MBE, an hononary club member, to give a short history of the club and ladies’ section over the years.
Belle kept attendees enthralled with her tales, including a time when Prince Andrew played a round of golf at Dunaverty.
Lorna thanked everybody for their attendance, Jonathan Barbour and Campbell MacBrayne for the excellent condition of the course, and Moyra Jane Paterson and her Putt Stop staff team for an outstanding afternoon tea which was followed by a raffle in aid of pancreatic cancer research, which raised £207.
“A great afternoon was had by all,” said a club spokesperson.
