David Mayo, a director of Campbeltown Community Business, the company which owns the cinema, created a unique collection box using an old cinema reel, perspex and the letters from the display board that used to be at the kiosk before the cinema's restoration.

Mhairi Hendrie, the cinema's assistant manager, said: 'Since it was installed it has certainly gained some attention. We thought something more eye-catching than your standard collection tin might be a bit fun.
'Any money raised will be going towards the cost of looking after the building.'
