The old hall, built in the early 1950s, was recently demolished having outlived its shelf life as a concrete, asbestos-roofed, prefabricated building.
The extended space created by the demolition gave the inspiration to hold the event which proved a great success.
The weather was glorious, resulting in a wonderful family day out for enthusiasts and visitors.
Expecting 40 to 50 vehicles, around 60 vehicles turned up, including classic motorcycles, tractors and many cars including a large selection of classic Saabs, two Minis, two TR6s, a Morris Minor, Rovers, Volvos, an old Riley, a Jaguar, and a wonderful Lagonda M45 Tourer 1937.
Special interest vehicles included an Aston Martin, two Mini Mokes and a Peugeot 306 GTi rally car.
Amongst the many motorcycles were a 1973 Norton Commando 850 cc, Velocettes, and a Harley Davison, and tractors included a Ferguson 1947, an old Massey Ferguson and a Ford 3000.
A special attraction at the event was Loch Fyne Pipe band, whose members performed magnificently following a minute's silence and brief speech by Elizabeth Ball in memory of the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Barbecue food and refreshments were served throughout and there were stalls, a tombola and raffle which, together with ticket sales, raised in excess of £1,800 after expenses.
'This was a fantastic result and all thanks to the big public turnout, the lovely weather, and with special thanks to all the volunteers, the Oban Classic vehicle club, the Scottish Saab Enthusiasts Group and all the independent exhibitors,' said a spokesperson.
'Fuel merchants D McNair & Son Ltd and Highways Motors kindly donated generous raffle prizes.
'All proceeds will go toward the Clachan Village Hall development fund, the priority being to renovate the B listed 19th century iconic old Free Church which was bought with the aid of a grant from the Scottish Land Fund to serve as a replacement village hall/community hub for the Clachan community.
'This is an expensive project and we are in need of extensive grant funding to achieve our goal.
'The success of the Clachan Classics event has demonstrated the great potential of the old ground site for hosting further revenue-creating events and so we are also seeking funding to improve the site facilities. Any donations will be greatly received.'
