Coinneach MacLeod, The Hebridean Baker, is following up his debut release with My Scottish Island Kitchen. A fresh selection of wholesome, rustic recipes, charming stories and breath-taking photography from Western Isles.
Inspired by family recipes, traditional bakes and Scottish flavours, MacLeod uses local produce to showcase Scotland’s extensive larder and brings us flavourful dishes with a story to tell. The cookbook is filled with dishes for all seasons, from Island Scones to Caledonian Cream, Posh Mince and Tatties to a Flying Scotsman, First Footers Martini to Empire Biscuits. Treats to make every Scot and lover of Scotland flock to their kitchens.
The cover of his new book was shot at Eilean Glas Lighthouse on the Isle of Scalpay and features Coinneach in his MacLeod of Lewis kilt and his trusty sidekick Seòras at his heel.
He said: 'I’m so excited to be sharing my new cookbook filled with tasty recipes, Hebridean stories and beautiful island landscapes.
'My Scottish Island Kitchen offers a true taste of the Hebrides and I hope folk fall in love with it.'
Born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, Coinneach's debut cookbook Hebridean Baker, Recipes and Wee Stories from the Scottish Islands had more than 20 million video views online and has inspired millions around the world to bake, forage, learn Gaelic, enjoy a dram or two of whisky and to seek a more wholesome, simple life.
Along with his partner Peter and their Westie Seòras, Coinneach’s aim is to bring the best of the Scottish islands to a worldwide audience.
My Scottish Island Kitchen will be published on September 29.
