The A85 between Connel and Dunbeg shut after a collision between a pedestrian and a car, is now open in both directions.
Traffic is now moving normally again following almost 14 hours of disruption.
The road had reopened to eastbound traffic under a contraflow system around 11.30am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said enquiries are ongoing into the incident that shut the road at 10.06pm yesterday, Monday, February 17.
A 37-year-old-man is now confirmed to have died following the accident.
The back road being used earlier today as an alternative route was reported to be at a standstill because of trucks trying to use it. Traffic was still able to move between Dunbeg and Oban.
