Illustrator Tony van Breugel says he believes the latest book in the Corrie’s Capers series "is the best one yet".
Called Corrie’s Paper Capers, the children’s book is written by Arran author Alison page and illustrated by Tony.
The latest instalment is the fifth in the series which raises funds for Scottish-based charity Mary’s Meals.
Once costs are covered, Alison donates profits from the Corrie’s Capers books to the charity which feeds 2.4 million hungry children in 18 of the world’s poorest countries every school day.
Since writing the first title, The Westie Fest, in 2018, she has already donated more than £27,000 to Mary’s Meals.
Corrie’s Paper Capers tells the story of Corrie, the main character of the series, who is excited about a competition in the local paper which will allow the holder of a pass to visit the launch of a new ferry for the island.
Corrie manages to find the pass in unusual circumstances, but it does not belong to her and she battles with her conscience about doing the right thing.
The story ends on a particularly high note with one delightful surprise after another waiting for the little westie.
Alison Page said: “I must admit, I have had great fun researching and writing Corrie’s Paper Capers.
“There are so many different elements to this story and hopefully something to interest everyone. Tony has excelled himself with the illustrations and I’m sure your Arran Banner (Barker) readers will enjoy it.
“I thank all my lovely stockists as well as everyone who has bought books and supported me over the years. Corrie has quite a following these days, it’s absolutely amazing.”
Corrie’s Paper Capers will be launched at Arran Alpacas, Balmichael, on Sunday July 7 and everyone is invited to attend.
Alison and Tony will be available to sign books and Alison will read from her new book for all the visiting children. Adults and children can also enjoy crafts, a cuppa and cake.
Further information about Corrie’s Paper Capers and all the previous books in the series can be found on the website at www.westie.scot/ Copies of the book can be bought online or at more than 16 stockists across the island.
