Dalintober Primary School decided to share the flavour with some of Campbeltown’s workforce when it took part in the Big Scottish Breakfast campaign.
Held this year from September 9-13, the annual STV Children’s Appeal initiative encourages friends, families, colleagues and classmates to enjoy breakfast together to help raise funds for children affected by poverty across Scotland.
It was more than just the school community who got a taste of the action when Dalintober took part on Tuesday September 10, with the school sharing the goods with local workers.
“There was a super turnout of children and families to the event, which was then spread wider to include some local businesses and organisations,” said acting depute head teacher Lesley Ronald. “Deliveries of freshly made bacon rolls went down a treat!
“Funds raised from the event will go towards the STV Children’s Appeal.”
The Big Scottish Breakfast campaign is run in partnership with Kellogg’s, which has been a supporter of school breakfast clubs across the UK for 25 years, with the company’s Breakfast Club Network providing cash grants and free food to over 3000 clubs since 1998.
Dalintober’s youth work team currently runs a very well-attended breakfast club three times a week, which is open to Early Learning Centre pupils every Wednesday morning.
