Deja vu for SLT as 'taxing season' continues

For the second time this season South Lochaber Thistle ended up on the wrong side of a tight match against Strathclyde university alumni side Cambria FC, writes Peter Newman.

 

The Jags welcomed the visitors to Claggan Park but ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 reverse by full time.

 

The goal for the hosts came from man of the match Andrew Maclean. The towering midfielder nosing ahead of his marker to pile home a trademark header from a captain Martin Munro corner kick.

 

Sadly the game turned on a red card for elegant centre half Stevie Neil. Already deadlocked at 1-1, reducing the Jags to 10 men changed the game and Cambria took full advantage scoring the winner with only 10 minutes left on the clock.

 

Other results have moved South Lochaber Thistle out of the relegation zone and maintain three games in hand over their nearest rivals in the table.

 

The club were extremely grateful to David Macdonald who cut the grass to make sure the match went ahead.

 

SLT continue to seek a new management team and will hope that the visit of high flying St Patrick's FP AFC this weekend sees the team give a good account of itself as a taxing season begins to draw to a close.
