On Monday Barcaldine mum Kirsten Leach was named the winner of the voucher competition organised by The Oban Times in association with campaigner for local business, Bid4Oban
The annual voucher scheme was launched to encourage people to shop locally at smaller businesses based in Oban.
Kirsten, who has worked in Tesco for 15 years, said she was looking forward to putting the voucher towards buying some Christmas presents for her two young daughters and son.
'I don't usually have much luck with these competitions, but it will be a big help to be able to spend it before Christmas,' she said, adding: 'It's great that you can spend all the (Love Oban) vouchers locally.'
Chief executive of Bid4Oban, Andrew Spence said: 'We've had the Love Oban vouchers for almost 10 years and they've proved really popular because people know that money is going to stay in the local community.'
'It's easy to go to down to Glasgow or go online to spend money, but if we keep doing that we won't have a local economy.'
Mr Spence met with Kirsten at the organisation's offices in Stevenson Street, with one of their Oban Town Ambassadors, Kay Mcdonald, handing the voucher over.
'It's important to get people thinking about where they're spending their money - be it with national or smaller independent retailers in Oban. They all employ locals and help support the local economy,' he added. 'If anyone hasn't considered what they are going to buy their loved ones for Christmas, then please consider a Love Oban voucher because they're valid for a year and it's a great present.'
