The Kintyre and the Islands by-election for a new councillor for the Argyll and Bute Council ward takes place on Thursday July 18.
The by-election follows the sudden death of Councillor Robin Currie, 68, of Bruichladdich, Islay on May 9 this year.
Three councillors represent Kintyre and the Islands, which includes north Kintyre and the islands of Colonsay, Gigha, Islay and Jura.
The ward is represented at the moment by councillors Alastair Redman (Independent) and Dougie McFadzean (SNP).
The five candidates standing in the single-transferable-vote election are: Anne Horn, SNP; Donald Kelly, Independent; Douglas MacDonald, Scottish Liberal Democrats, Alan McManus, Freedom Alliance and Elizabeth Redman, Scottish Conservative and Unionist.
Don’t forget to vote for your candidates, in order of preference.
