A search is under way for a person who has gone missing in Loch Linnhe.
The person, who hasn’t been named, was reported missing from Fort William around 7pm on Wednesday and is understood to have entered the loch near the town centre.
Emergency services, including police, fire and rescue, coastguard, a search and rescue helicopter and the RNLI, attended the scene to begin the search, before retiring as darkness descended. They restarted the operation at the crack of dawn this morning and continue to work at the scene.
Oban’s lifeboat crew have confirmed they are also in attendance.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 6.34pm on Wednesday December 4, operations control mobilised a number of resources to Loch Linnhe near Fort William to assist emergency service partners. Crews are no longer at the scene.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
