Connel World Supersport rider John MacPhee made a sudden departure from his team on Saturday just hours before he was due to start his final race of the season.
The 30-year-old made the announcement that he would not be on the grid for Race Two in Jerez on Sunday morning and would be parting ways from the WRP by SKM-Triumph team with immediate effect.
He posted on his social media channels:
"End of the 2024 season for me. After another strong weekend so far, being inside the top 10 in every session and a P8 in race one, it’s a great shame to let you know I won’t compete in today’s race two.
"After a meeting with my team last night, the decision was made to part ways with immediate effect. I don’t wish to comment further on the matter at this time.
"I’m happy with how I’m riding and believe as one door closes another will open. Just need to find that door now as I search for a ride in 2025. Thanks to everyone for your support as always."
