The event will mark the launch of the boat ahead of its first season on the water. Crew aboard the boat will undertake research on the marine protected areas around Arran, offering citizen science tours for a chance to contribute to COAST’s ongoing monitoring programme of the health of the island's coasts and seas.
Arran school pupils and those from further afield will also have a unique chance to get out on the water and learn about the importance of protecting precious marine habitats by gaining hands-on experience of conservation in action.
Everyone is welcome to join COAST at the Discovery Centre in Lamlash from noon for this special occasion. Attractions include Arran EcoSavvy Zero Waste Cafe, live music acts, water-based games and fun activities for children of all ages and food. There will also be a raffle and a chance to enter a prize draw for the chance to jump on board COAST Explorer!
COAST looks forward to seeing you there.
The finishing touches are made to the COAST Explorer ahead of her launch next weekend. 01_B19coast01_23_explorer_launch
