Alvance British Aluminium hosted its annual staff and contractor Family Fun Day on Saturday June 22.
Held at Fort William Shinty Club, the event brought together around 80 adults and 50 children and was expertly coordinated by the Alvance social committee.
"Despite many being away at the Euros in Germany, our team gathered for a day filled with fun activities and delicious food from G’s Pizza and An Cafaidh Mara, followed by ice cream from Mulligan Ices," said a spokesperson for the organisers.
"The bonus, of course, was that the weather stayed dry."
The event covered lots of family activities, including football, Fort William Bouncy Castle Hire, spear throwing by Wild Highland Outdoor Centre, balloon art and games by Maddie the Children’s Entertainer, friendship bracelet making and a sweetie corner.
Alvance’s very own Grzegorz Rybacki, the company’s IT technician, did a stupendous job of providing
the musical entertainment.
The event also provided the opportunity to support a worthy cause and organisers are extremely grateful to more than 40 generous businesses that donated incredible prizes.
Special thanks also went to Rosie Flannigan who chairs the social committee and goes above and beyond to organise these events.
"Thanks also to everyone who bought raffle tickets," added the spokesperson.
"We raised over £2,000 for Lochaber Women’s Aid with more expected to come from our lucky squares competition."
Every prize was appreciated, and congratulations to the winners who won prizes, including a £250 Amazon vouchers, a tour of Ibrox Football Stadium, an iPad, one annual leave day, 2m cubes of logs and various vouchers to enjoy within local businesses.
Tom Uppington, managing director of Alvance British Aluminium, said: "We are incredibly proud of the community spirit shown at this event.
"Not only did we have a fantastic time with our colleagues and their families, but we also came together to support Lochaber Women’s Aid.
"The generosity of our local businesses and the participation of our staff and contractors demonstrate the strong bonds within our community.”
"Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event and a special thanks to the ladies behind the bar who kept the drinks flowing.
"We hope you enjoyed the day too, and we look forward to other future events through our social committee."
