The one-day event on Saturday June 18 follows the theme of connecting through play. Fun starts at 10am with doors open until 4pm.
Mum Rachel Tierney, one of the organisers from the town's Toy Cupboard play project, says it is especially important to reconnect the community after Covid restrictions.
A wealth of information and ideas of what to do at home and out and about to keep little ones amused this summer will be a focus point of the festival, highlighting projects and places including Toy Cupboard's own project, Stramash, Homestart, Dunollie, Dunstaffnage, Wee Bay Tepees, Noah’s Ark and The Rockfield Centre.
'We also wanted to bring in advice and experiences and services not currently available in Oban, such as a baby carrying workshop and advice from qualified baby carrying consultant Coorie in with Love and Let’s Make Pottery,' added Rachel.
Workshop and taster sessions will include infant CPR and home safety advice from Oban fire service. There will also be summer storytelling with Corelo Productions, Bookbug and the Argyll and Bute Early Years Team will have advice on play at home and ELC funding. Preas Dèideagan with Duncan McNeil of Furan Gaelic Centre will be there as well as the Happy Wee Health Club and more.
All sessions are available to book for free via the TeamReach app using the code Tcoban to sign up to the Toy Cupboard booking app or by contacting toycupboardoban@gmail.com.
There will also be stalls, information stands and opportunities to play, eat and drink.
Quality preloved toys, clothes and equipment will be on sale along with raffle tickets raising funds for Lorn Toy Library with prizes generously donated from businesses in and around Oban.
