The last of Lochgilphead Bowling Club’s trophies for the Ladies’ and Men’s indoor championships got underway on the carpets on Saturday March 15.
Set up for the day was for two sections for the ladies and one for the men on a round robin format.
Ladies section 1 was won by Marie Young sharing points with Lynne Milne but with a superior shots total.
Section 2 was a tight affair with Roberta Bowen and Liz Long each winning two games with Liz winning the section again with superior shots difference.
In the men’s section Duncan Litster won all three of his games, while Hugh Sansom won two and drew one
There was a break for tea and excellent cakes and to catch breaths after some wonderful bowls matches.
In the finals for the ladies, despite a valiant effort from Liz, Marie once again reigned supreme winning by an excellent score of 5-1.
The men’s final was a very tight game with Duncan and Hugh playing some wonder bowls.
Into last end and scores were tied.
In the last end Hugh edged the game winning 4-3.
Presentation of trophies by club president Colin MacInnes, who thanked all the bowlers , for the lovely cakes and buns and to all who helped make the day go well.
