Lochgilphead front green was the venue on Saturday for the first ever Argyll and Bute Council events team-run family fun day.
While there were a few drop-outs among the stall holders and entertainment providers, there was still enough on the green to attract a good crowd, all keen to take advantage of some of the sunshine and stalls.
There were stalls from local crafters, street food, ponies to pet, a teacup fairground ride for the little ones and pottery painting.
This was the first event the team from Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre HLCC Events had run on the green.
A spokesperson for HLLCC Events, which was tasked with planning the event by senior management at the council, said: “Planning from afar was challenging, but we met lots of lovely local crafters and vendors who were all absolute superstars.
“We hope to have the chance to do another event on Lochgilphead Green soon.”
Feedback from the event on social media was also full of praise at having something happening on the green, with comments such as, “Well done it’s nice to have something on in Lochgilphead and make good use of the new area on the front green” to “I have never seen so many people on the front green or the play park; so busy. Well done” and ‘” Well done to all. It was lovely”.
Argyll and Bute Council event team is based in Helensburgh, and carries out weddings, private functions and public events at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre throughout the year.
