It was in their teenage years that they originally got Fantic 200s and longed to do the world famous SSDT on them.
Fast forward 35 years and their lifelong ambition has become a reality having completed this year's event in Kinlochleven.
In the last 20 years Gary and Paul have accumulated 35 SSDT finishes between them.
Opinions were split on whether they could make it over this year’s finish line on their 40-year-old machines. This sparked their idea to raise money for charity whilst taking on the challenge.
To date the pair have raised over £8,000 for the Macmillan nurses/Macmillan Cancer Support.
Gary has unfortunately needed their assistance with the ongoing care of his wife Christina while Paul himself has been a friend and work colleague of Christina since their late teens.
