The Fort fielded three teams of four at the day-long event, with the first team taking a well deserved victory. Monte Bleasdale remained undefeated, and was well supported by John Grant as they managed to hold off the challenge posed by the visitors' first team. Both Angus MacDonald and Alin Popu came close to increasing the team's winning margin in two of the matches but each of them narrowly lost.
It was Fort William's second team that proved altogether too strong for the Inverness team as both Simon Jeffrey and Costi Dimitru won all their matches. Julie Magen only suffered one defeat and Harry Williamson chipped in with one win to give the team a resounding victory which was ultimately led to the home side's overall victory in this match.

Unfortunately the Fort's third team found the going a little tough, as only Neil Cameron Jr managed to win a match. However, as this was the penultimate match of the evening to be played, Cameron Jr can take great credit in taking the Fort over the winning line, in what turned out to be a very tight but enjoyable contest for all participants.
Special thanks must go to Rae Jack for bringing his team from Inverness, and to Fort William chairman John Grant for organising the event with the Nevis Centre.

Inverness are already plotting revenge and a return challenge match is to be organised for sometime in September.
