The monthly medal for March was played at Dunaverty Golf Club last Saturday, with 22 gents taking to the course to battle it out.
Conditions were very favourable with little wind, and the forecasted rain staying away to allow all competitors a fair chance to score well.
As often happens, the first group of the day produced some fine golf to set an early pace which proved too difficult to pass on the day.
Fraser McNair returned a very decent nett 65 to take the honours and Donald Sloss produced a magnificent gross 70 to take the scratch prize.
A club spokesperson said: “Thanks as always to greenkeepers Jonathan and Campbell for their hard work over the winter, which is resulting in the course being in great condition for the time of year.
“Thanks also to Moyra, Eve and team at The Putt Stop who continue to impress all who use the facility at the club with their quality and professionalism.
“We look forward to a fantastic summer of golf and to welcoming returning and new players to the course, and non-members to use the clubhouse facilities.”
Results: 1 Fraser McNair 88-23=65, 2 Douglas Neilson 72-6=66 (bih), 3 Iain McGlynn 94-28=66. Lowest gross: Donald Sloss 70.
