The importance of a digital presence
A robust digital presence is key to staying competitive in today’s market. For small businesses, this means having an engaging website, active social media channels, and the ability to sell products or services online. With more consumers turning to online platforms for shopping and services, businesses that lack digital capabilities risk falling behind.
Business Gateway in Argyll and Bute is committed to supporting the growth and sustainability of small businesses across the region.
By investing in digital skills and infrastructure, local businesses can unlock new opportunities and attract a wider customer base.
Digital review
Businesses based in Argyll and Bute can also benefit from free 1:1 support from a digital expert and, in some cases, a full digital review. Businesses can request a free one-hour surgery with a digital expert by contacting the Argyll and Bute Business Gateway team. This can be extended to a full digital review for businesses with an established online presence.
The digital review, which is fully funded, is undertaken by a digital expert, who will audit a business’ online presence and make a set of recommendations to improve digital activity, aligned to their business goals.
Hugh Lightbody, Chief Executive, Business Gateway, said: “As the backbone of Scotland’s economy, small businesses play a crucial role in driving local communities forward. However, in today’s increasingly digital world, having a strong online presence and digital skills is no longer optional – it’s essential for success.
“Having an effective digital presence and trading online offers small businesses across the country host of benefits, including wider customer reach, cost savings, marketing opportunities, data-driven insights, and enhanced customer engagement.
“We understand the unique challenges faced by small business in rural areas, and our goal is to provide them with the resources to not only survive, but thrive.”
