Youngsters from Lundavra Nursery had a great time at the Lochaber Rural Education Trust (LRET) base at Torlundy learning about plants and animals before taking part in ‘good old fashioned’ games.
Wrapped up for unseasonal weather, the children were shown round the outdoor gardens being cultivated by various primary schools, the plants in the greenhouses, which are getting a bit more protection and the ever popular pet animals.
After their walk and snack, the nursery pupils formed teams inside the rural complex to play traditional games including hoop-la, knocking over cans with bean bags and soft darts.
The trust, which organises regular visits and activities for schoolchildren of all ages, keeps alive traditional practices such as butter and felt making and growing and preparing food, with an element of fun which educates and entertains the young people.
