Members were joined by residents from Furnace and other outlaying areas at the Furnace War Memorial, where the Union Jack flag lay on the steps in front of the memorial with a photograph of Her Majesty on it.
Flowers were laid and two minutes' silence was held at 8pm along with the rest of the nation.
