G & A Barnie’s success story is being fuelled by its dedication to quality service and a strong connection to the local community. Last year alone, due to an increased demand for their services, the Fort William branch team nearly doubled, surging to a robust force of 16 dedicated professionals. 

The additions include a wave of fresh talent, with three budding apprentice electricians, three fully qualified plumbers and a further two apprentice plumbers joining the ranks. This growth is a direct response to the increasing demand for their services, a testament to the company’s reputation for excellence and reliability.
 

The move to larger premises will also be a significant step in this continued expansion, not only providing the physical space necessary to accommodate the growing team but also enabling the company to streamline its operations, invest in new equipment and enhance the overall customer experience. 

Apprenticeships keep the community powered
 

G & A Barnie Fort William branch is a now recruiting apprentice electricians, offering opportunities for young people to embark on well-paid and satisfying careers without having to move out of their communities. This is particularly important in the face of a national skills shortage in the trades sector. By actively recruiting young apprentices, the company is playing a crucial role in bringing up the next generation of plumbers and electricians. Craig believes in hands-on training, mentorship and creating a supportive environment where young people can thrive. This approach isn’t just good for the apprentices. It’s good for the entire community, ensuring a steady supply of skilled workers to keep homes and businesses running smoothly.

“We’re always on the lookout for talented and motivated young people to join our team,” Craig explained. “Electrical and plumbing skills are always going to be in demand, and we want to provide a clear pathway for local youth to build rewarding and lasting careers right here in Fort William.”
