Gas Safety Week: Every check counts

Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions, and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. CO is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly and without warning, as you cannot see it, taste it, or smell it.
By taking care of your gas appliances properly you are taking care of your home and your loved ones. No matter how big or small every check counts.
The Oban Times are pleased to include some of the local engineers whose job is to make sure that people’s gas appliances are operating safely and efficiently. A local engineer said ‘In some instances, people do not know the signs and symptoms of faulty gas appliances and carbon monoxide poisoning. Because of this, we are supporting Gas Safety Week to remind the public of the seriousness of unsafe gas appliances, the importance of checking and how they can keep themselves and their families safe.’
