The mouth-watering festival returns to Oban this month and for two days Corran Halls will be a foodie paradise, with the best of food and drink from across the region on show.
Now in its second year the much anticipated festival, served up by Food From Argyll, is set to tickle taste buds with its expansive menu of food stalls, tastings, culinary workshops, and live music.
Food From Argyll is a group of passionate local producers bringing a world of flavour to their customers and over September 28 and September 29, from 10am to 4pm, festival-goers will have a chance to meet the makers behind the delicious food on offer.
Why not try some award-winning salami from Great Glen Charcuterie or artisan handmade cheese from Argyll and Bute Cheeses.
For those with a sweet tooth, how about a delicious ice cream from the team at Highland Fold. You can wash that down with a swig of Lussa Gin, distilled by three women on the Isle of Jura using botanicals they can grow or gather on the island.
With plenty more producers selling delicacies on the day there will be something to satisfy every taste and all stall holders are donating goods to a hamper which will be raffled off to one lucky winner.
“The producers love talking to customers and it turns out customers love talking to them about what they do,” said Food From Argyll’s Amanda Anderson. “It’s such a fun day out for everyone.”
New this year is a special coffee showcase where visitors can hone their barista skills. Other workshops include butchery, foraging, oyster shucking, and a special baking demonstration from the much-loved Hebridean Baker Coinneach MacLeod.
Visitors can sit and enjoy musical entertainment from some great bands while eating tasty food and sipping on a glass of wine or beer from the bar. Better yet, make sure to take a helping of food away to savour later.
