Children from Gigha took part in a sponsored cycle organised by Gigha Primary School Parent Council.
The cycle, on Saturday May 18, was organised to raise money for a much-needed multi-use games area on the island.
The children, aged between two and ten years, set off from various points on the island and pedalled to the South Pier, a distance of seven miles for the eldest children who started cycling at the north end.
The children smashed their initial target of £250, raising £501 for their cause.
Parent council co-chairperson Alixandra Kirkpatrick said: “I am immensely proud of the children of Gigha Primary School and early learning centre who put in such a sterling effort.
“The dedication which they showed at such a young age to achieve a common goal was outstanding and will benefit themselves, other children, adults and visitors for years to come.”
