A Campbeltown woman is celebrating after scooping £50,000 in an online lottery.
Not only did Grace Mckendrick, 21, win the jackpot in a recent Kilted Competitions draw but she also won £2,000 in another of the company’s lotteries the week before.
Remembering the moment she found out she had won the five-figure sum, Grace said: “I was in absolute shock and still can’t quite believe it.
"A friend shared one of the competitions on Facebook and I was lucky enough to win both times.”
Grace, who works in Argyll and Bute Council’s financial services department, only signed up with Kilted Competitions in January and has sensible plans for her cash.
She said: "The winnings will go towards buying a new home some time in the future."
Kilted Competitions is a family-run business based in Montrose on Scotland’s east coast which offers entrants the opportunity to win money and other prizes - including cars and holidays - for an entry fee.
The draws are then run live on the Kilted Competitions’ Facebook page using a random number generator to draw the winning tickets.
“For us, it’s all about giving the opportunity of winning unbelievable prizes, with low ticket prices and the best possible odds,” said Kilted Competitions director Katie Barker, who runs the business alongside her brother Kevin Barker, mother Alison Barker and sister-in-law Lucy Barker.
Established almost three years ago, Kilted Competitions has grown a customer base from all over the UK, with wins of £100,000 and £37,000 in Tarbert last year resulting a marked increase in the number of players from across the Argyll area.
Katie added: “With over 40,000 social media followers, we continue to grow from strength to strength, allowing us to bring bigger and better life changing prizes to our site.
“We have given away millions of pounds in prizes, including life-changing cash, houses, cars, dream holidays, top of the range prizes and we have made fantastic friends along the way.
“We pride ourselves in supporting various charities throughout the year and are delighted to have donated tens of thousands of pounds since our business started.
“Our prize draws take place every night of the week live on Facebook at 9pm. Kilted Competitions welcome new players and wish everyone the best of luck...here’s to changing more lives."
