GRIP gets masked up
The effects of coronavirus are so far-reaching that even Sir Antony Gormley's sculpture GRIP, which stands on rocks in Saddell Bay, has been given his own face mask.
Litter pickers across the UK are reporting a huge increase in the number of dumped disposable face masks being spotted during their patrols but, thankfully, the iron man's single-use disposable face covering was only in place long enough for a photograph to be taken.
Tommy Macpherson, from Saddell, took the shot last Sunday before removing the face covering and taking it away with him.
People are being urged to dispose of single-use face masks responsibly - they cannot be recycled but should be disposed of carefully - to prevent them ending up in streams, rivers and eventually the sea where they could cause harm to wildlife and the environment.
