Charity trustees from Argyll Beats Cardiovascular Disease (ABCD) have handed over their latest heartfelt donation.
Representatives from the charity were at The Happy Wee Health Club in Market Street in Oban on Friday to see the new lifesaving defibrillator they have funded.
The unit, on the outside wall, will be available to health club users but also for 24/7 public use.
Health club funders Katie Galbraith and Karen MacDonald have agreed to look after the unit and have already registered it with the Scottish Ambulance Service. They will also keep up maintenance of the defibrillator, which was supplied via charity Lucky2bHere.
Since ABCD started in 2000, it has raised more than £250,000 to help combat heart disease across Argyll. This is the 11th defibrillator the charity has donated to places in Argyll including Oban’s Atlantis, the RNLI lifeboat, Oban Mountain Rescue and some remote communities.
Katie said: "It’s just so important for us as a health club to have this defib nearby. We have people here working out to stay fit and well but it is equally important to the town to have lifesaving equipment close by too.
"This is a busy part of Oban and this is a great new asset."
