There was a big turnout for the launch where author Alison Page and artist Tony van Breugel signed copies of the new book Corrie's Library Capers, with all proceeds going to the charity Mary's Meals.
In the latest book Corrie, a West Highland terrier, enlists the help of Tabitha, a retired riding school pony. Two ponies were drafted in to help promote the launch with Isla McKinnon riding Freddie, while Rona Fulton, the former Arran RDA instructor, brought along Ricky. Tabitha Tinto, who features in the book, couldn’t travel from Perthshire as she is aged 33 - 99 in horse years.
Alison said: 'With so many wonderful events happening on the island at the weekend, I didn’t expect to have much of a turnout for the book launch on Saturday. How wrong could I be?
'Lamlash church hall was packed with Arran people and visitors celebrating the launch of Corrie’s Library Capers. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me and made this such a happy event.
'Tony van Bruegel and I signed books, Kathryn Allan baked a fantastic cake and Anne Ferguson made fabulous Westie shortbread.'
Alison will be at the children's day at Arran Heritage Museum on Sunday.
