Fyne Homes is to distribute all profits from electricity generated at the three-turbine Glen Barr windfarm in West Kintyre, through its subsidiary company Fyne Energy, to its tenants to 'assist with the cost of heating their homes'.
Following a recommendation from Tony Harrison, Fyne Energy chairperson, to direct money to Fyne Homes' tenants facing higher household energy bills, vouchers will be allocated and sent out to tenants during December and can be redeemed at the Post Office.
They are valid for one month.
James McMillan, chairperson of Fyne Homes' committee, said: 'We know times are hard for many Fyne Homes tenants across Argyll and Bute. Supporting people through these challenging times is important to us and I am pleased to announce these payments to Fyne Homes tenants to help with the cost of living.'
Fyne Homes chief executive Iona MacPhail said: 'Fyne Homes is determined to do all it can to support our tenants and these payments will further enhance the support available to them. Any tenants struggling to make ends meet should contact us. We are
always here to help.'
'The vouchers can be put towards energy costs, food or whatever may assist tenant
households.'
To redeem the vouchers, tenants will have to take photographic ID or a recent utility
bill to the post office, along with the voucher.
