The town of Inveraray will celebrate its long military history with a day of parades, pageantry and family fun on Saturday, June 15.
The Inveraray branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland is staging the event, which will begin at noon with a parade of personnel, both young and old, including veterans, serving soldiers, legion members and cadets.
Led by Inveraray and District Pipe Band, the parade will begin at the Pier Shop, make its way up Main Street, then around Church Square and back down to the war memorial. At this point in the proceedings an inspection will be held, and the parade participants will pay their respects at the war memorial.
When the parade officially falls out an afternoon of games, food, drink and challenge will begin. The Lochgilphead Army Cadets will host an assault course, while stalls, raffles and a bar will entertain all in attendance.
In addition, a display of Second World War memorabilia will be exhibited throughout the afternoon before the event closes at 5pm.
