With just hours to go before we find out who will become the MP for the newly formed Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire constituency, we gave candidates the opportunity to have a final say.
Fort William’s own Angus MacDonald (Liberal Democrats) began campaigning 18 months ago and has been running it "like a military campaign".
"Before the election had been called we had already knocked on 30,000 doors out of the 45,000 in the constituency," he told us.
"I have enjoyed most of the campaign, canvassing is fun, people are nice and generally happy to chat.
"However hustings are aggressive, they are not suited to my nature, and comments on social media can be really unpleasant.
"I have been involved in lots of business crises, served in the army in conflict zones and oversaw the birth of four sons but I can say this last six weeks has been the most exhausting and tense period of my life.
"The night of the count will be sleepless and nerve wracking.
"I have been fantastically supported by Peter Winnington-Ingram my friend, and agent, Aonghus Ferguson from Plockton and Declan Gallagher along with many many others. A huge thank you to them and all those who vote for me."
SNP candidate Drew Hendry was the MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey since 2015. However, with the recent boundary changes he is now standing here. Something he is relishing.
"Meeting with folk and learning about the issues facing Lochaber has been invaluable and I’d like to thank everyone I’ve met so far on the campaign trail," he said.
"I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with you all for Lochaber. This area has the potential to become an economic powerhouse, and there’s a wealth of talent and determination within our local business community to make that happen.
"To achieve economic success, we must tackle challenges head-on. Infrastructure investment is essential, as is securing the future of Belford Hospital and addressing social inequality in our communities.
Our young people face fewer opportunities and financial insecurity, while the chaos at Westminster has driven up living costs for all of us. Families in Lochaber are struggling to make ends meet, and standing up for fairness for you, your family and Lochaber will always be a priority for me."
Greens campaigner Peter Newman is all too familiar with the region. His mum hails from Kinlochleven and he was a guidance and English teacher at Ardnamurchan High School for seven years. He is also heavily involved with football in Lochaber, mainly through South Lochaber Thistle and now Fort William FC.
Speaking to the Lochaber Times this week, Peter said: The campaign in Lochaber has mainly centred around a feeling of disillusionment with politics in general and several matters which are really devolved issues.
"What is absolutely clear is that people in Lochaber feel disconnected and forgotten about: by Westminster, by Holyrood, by Highland Council.
"What is also clear is that they want to be heard. People are proud of Lochaber, proud of the natural beauty, proud of their sense of community.
"People want integrity and they want hope. It is also clear that people are seeing through synthetic candidates, those chancing their arm with focus grouped solutions and money over authenticity.
"I believe that my campaign has given people a measure of hearing from someone in a language they recognise."
Conservative candidate Ruraidh Stewart has also been out and about in Lochaber. Having grown up on a family croft, Ruraidh has a deep running love for the Highlands.
