The 29-year-old was in Acerbis, Czech Republic for a chaotic eighth round of the championship held between Friday July 28 and Sunday July 30.
Riding for Vince64 by Pucetti, he finished 19th out of 26 finishers in race one on Saturday, before rallying the next day to come fourth in a strong field.
In this second outing John was only 21 seconds behind the first placed rider and this was his second best finish in the championship after his third place in Australia in February.
John is now 16th overall in the World SSP Championship rankings with 46 points, and commenting after the race he said: "I'm happy for myself and everyone in the Vince64 team. Tricky conditions is always a great equaliser and I’m happy to show our true potential again."
After a well deserved summer break, John's next racing appearance will come in the Pirelli French Round at Magny-Cors near Paris on Friday September 8.
